Norton and Malton Dog Grooming

Please read through our terms and conditions

Cancellations and No-Shows
- If you are unable to make it to your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible, but at least 48 hours before your appointment time.

- If you cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice, or don't turn up for your appointment without letting me know, a late cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of the groom must be paid. This is because it is very unlikely I will be able to fill the slot at such short notice. Appointments can only be rearranged after the fee has been paid.

-If I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, I will give you as much notice as possible, and no fees will be charged.

Late Arrivals and Collections
- If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, I may not have enough time to complete the groom, the appointment will need to be rearranged and a fee of 50% of the cost of the groom must be paid. Appointments can only be rearranged after the fee has been paid. Fee does not apply for first appointment, as the salon can be difficult to find!

- If I have given you a specific time for collection, and you are more than 15 minutes late, a fee of £2.50 per 15 minutes will apply.
(0-15mins = £0, 16-30mins = £2.50, 31-45mins = £5, 46-60mins = £7.50, etc…)
Health and Safety
- In the interest of your dog's comfort and health, please make sure they have been to the toilet before their appointment.

- In the interest of the health and safety of all dogs attending the salon, please make sure your dog is up to date with vaccinations and flea & worm preventatives. If your dog is not vaccinated, there is always a risk they could become ill at the salon, and I am not liable for any vet fees this may incur.

- Please note that I cannot carry out ear plucking, teeth scaling or expressing of anal glands on any dog. These procedures are classed as invasive and therefore, under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, should only be carried out by a qualified vet.

- Dogs deemed to be unfit for grooming in terms of their health will not be accepted. This is at my own discretion, taking veterinary advice into consideration.

- I work alone, so do not have anyone to help or take over if I get injured. Therefore dogs who display aggression may be sent home early and may not be allowed to re-book. This is at my own discretion.

- As I work alone, I also cannot lift large or heavy dogs, and will therefore only be able to groom them if they can jump in and out of the bath by themselves. Large or heavy dogs must also remain calm on the table for me to be able to groom them safely.

- In the interests of preventing unnecessary suffering, under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, any dog whose coat is heavily matted must be shaved down to the skin, rather than attempting to de-matt them, and a consent form must be signed first. Matting can cause skin issues which are uncovered when shaved, and the risk of injury increases. I am not liable for any vet fees this may incur.

- I can only shave a double coated dog if a consent form is signed first, or I am presented with a note signed by the dog’s vet to say it is necessary for health reasons.
